Desciption
Companion to the New York Times bestseller Nat Enough! It's called a crush for a reason...For the first time in her life, Natalie feels confident. Her talents are being recognized, she has supportive friends, and she's spending a ton of time with her crush, Derek! But when Derek tells Natalie that he just wants to be friends, Natalie's self-confidence quickly changes to self-doubt. As she tries to recover from her broken heart, Natalie casts aside her talents and even her friends. With no one to turn to, Natalie will have to pull herself out of this mess on her own.
Review
What Nat tries to do in this second Nat Enough graphic is to forget her crush on Derek. The dance she invited Derek to is a double disaster. First Derek declines her invitation and then a wounded Zoe makes a song request from Natalie to Derek doubling down on the embarrassment. How do you get over a broken heart? Natalie has lots of tips and shows us the way to a healthier self-image. Her dog and cat are along for the ride and there is an entertaining student election in the mix, too. Oh, and so is her magic mirror. So much colorful fun with large panels depicting Natalie and her classmates in their day-to-day experiences. The yearbook autograph page especially made me smile -- reminded me of my school days. I hope Natalie has many more books in our future.Thank you to Graphix and Edelweiss for a DRC in exchange for an honest review.
