Review
This book presents a solid analysis of the book of Revelation. The author tried to not allow his own beliefs and preconceived conclusions influence the book.Mr. Gregg says there are four main ways that people attempt to interpret the book of Revelation. Those different views vary about when the prophecies were or will be fulfilled and how literally Revelation should be interpreted. The futurist interpretation is the most speculative since those expositors claim that none of the prophecies in the book of Revelation have happened yet. This is the interpretation that has given us concepts like the so called rapture and dispensationalism.Troubling for me is there is a tremendous amount of anti Catholic sentiment expressed mainly with the historicist interpretation. As far as I'm concerned many Protestant philosophers have gone out on a limb and concluded that when Christ returns He will complete the ultimate destruction of the Catholic religion and show it has always been no good right from the beginning. The historicist guys think persecutions of the Catholic Church such as what happened during the French Revolution were a partial fulfillment of their doomsday scenario. They think the Catholic popes were and still are anti Christs. The historicist guys think when Christ returns the ultimate triumph of true biblical Christianity will happen. But I think it's important to keep in mind that the book of Revelation does not mention specific individuals and belief systems by name. There are deep and mysterious interconnections between mythology, Christianity, and the bible which are greatly misunderstood today.Ancient cultures felt the constellations of the Zodiac are living entities like gods.I think they believed the stars in those constellations influenced how the Earth was formed all of those unimaginable eons ago.The prophet Ezekiel had the vision of the 4 living creatures which correspond to the 4 fixed signs of the Zodiac:Man - AquariusLion - LeoBull - TaurusEagle - ScorpioThose strange Zodiac creatures appear again in the book of Revelation. They are the ones who told John about the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse. The astrology connection with the book of Revelation is mentioned in passing in this book. For me one of the most amazing things Edger Cayce ever said is there are prophecies about the future encoded into the Great Pyramid Of Giza. There is I think one entrance into the pyramid but then the pathway branches off in two different directions.Edgar said the Great Pyramid represents the Earth and the two pathways represent humanities spiritual journey through the Earth.Important historical events and time periods are indicated by the colors of stones on the walls along the pathways, the layering of the stones, and the way the pathways turn.Every 'pyramid inch' represents one year. So if someone knows the starting point in time they can trace along these passageways and find those historical events. The positive path gets wider at the point in time that corresponds to Christ's crucifixion. The negative path goes down into a bottomless pit underneath the pyramid, the so called chamber of chaos. This is something the Egyptian initiates learned about.Further reading:Initiation[Paperback – July 28, 2000]by Elisabeth HaichThe Book of the RevelationA Commentary Based on a Study of Twenty-Three Psychic Discourses by Edgar Cayce[Paperback – January 1, 1995]by Edgar CayceUfo...Contact from Planet Iarga[Hardcover – January 1, 1982]by Stefan Denaerde, Wendelle C.
