“This is the guidebook of information you would really wish you had known before becoming homeless and the preparation it advises you on can be the difference between a quick recovery or not.”Nobody ever wants to be homeless, in fact it’s rather a terrifying prospect. If you’re about to lose the roof over your head and default on all your debts, then do whatever it takes to buy some stuff that will REALLY matter in the near future and can save your life. But what items could make such a difference? The answers will depend on how you answer important strategic questions. After reading this book you will be much more prepared for an uncertain future and the entire homeless experience and you will know the answers to some frightening questions such as; How will you feed yourself? What will you do with your time? Where will you sleep? What is the road to recovery and back to normal life? Additional topics this book covers include; safety considerations, dumpster diving tips and how to get free food that won’t kill you, where your money will come from, how to eat on $10 a day and info about the kind of food you can prepare without cooking and stay healthy. That just grazes the surface of topics covered, there’s much, much more from someone who has lived the homeless life as a child and again as a young adult and has experience, insight and knows the road to recovery!Reviews: “A sane, clear, non-judgmental examination of reasonable options during an unreasonable experience. The book focuses on the important issues and the urgency of preparation. Some of the suggestions are not completely legal, but when fighting to survive, this book is on the side of survival rather than strict legality” Carla Montgomery, Social Worker“The author seems to be the “Bear Grylls” of homelessness. The details show real life experience with these situations. This book explains little things you’d never think of until you wouldn’t be able to do anything about them, but you’d really want to.” Name Withheld, experienced homeless person“If you even think you might become homeless, don’t put your head in the sand and hide from what might be the most valuable information you could have in the rest of your life and miss out on opportunities to prepare that just won’t be available to you once you are without a house. Read this book!” Jake Noland, Urban Survivalist Read more

Review

This book is geared to helping people who are homeless survive well and get back on their feet.So far it's the best survival guide I've read for homelessness because it's all what to do and tips. It does warn you to never say you are homeless and never beg as some people will see you and never forget. There is a ton in here and it's all great advice. A homeless person has to have a locker to store things including clothes, food, papers etc. It will make living on the street cheaper because you can buy the bigger things like shampoo and not carry it around with you as well as keep extra clothes and keep them clean so you can work. A safe deposit box is also super necessary for ID, Birth certificate, social security card, etc. which will be stolen very fast if they are carried around. You need these to get a job. The author goes into self employment and regular employment and really only gives useful advice. This will be a hard book to beat for survival tips. I'm committed to reading 10 books. I'm only on number 5. I believe this will be the must have. However, I am glad for every book I've read on the subject - all from actual homeless people. This one stands out for being completely survival tips.
