Brontë never really had a relationship with her dad. He was too busy growing his empire. After her mom passed away she is now trying to repair her relationship. Her dad threw her a graduation party. Her dad wants to do anything and everything to help her. She refuses to go to work for his company because she didn’t want people to think she got the job because of her dad. He past her resume to her friend Beckham. After her graduation party she felt overwhelmed and afterwards she stopped at a bar for a couple of drinks with her friends. While getting drinks she saw a man at the bar and she started flirting with him. She did give him her name and number. After dropping off the drinks to her friend she turned around and he was gone. She found that he had left her number crumpled up on the bar, she felt deflated.Beckham knew who Brontë was immediately by her name and that is why he left the bar. She was his best friends daughter. When she showed up for the interview she was shocked to see that Beckham was the man at the bar. He offered her a job as his assistant. He couldn’t stop thinking about her and before she even started he added more responsibilities to help him with some of his cases. Even though he tried to stay away from her and told her as such they were always flirting with each other. He always told her that he didn’t want anything, no long term, no relationship, no wife or children. However the pull was too much. On a work trip to Vegas and after a few drinks after a successful business meeting one thing lead to another and they thought what ever happened in Vegas will stay there. That doesn’t happen.What will happen if her father finds out? Will he ever change his mind about relationship?I really enjoyed this book. I really connected with Brontë because I too didn’t have a relationship with me dad growing up but she got lucky and was able to reconcile with her dad. Another great book by Alexis.
