Review

I, like many Transformers fans, have been waiting with bated breath for this books' release. And I was not disappointed when it arrived. The contents of this book are incredible. The artwork is stunning. The history of Cybertron is told in line with the Prime/War of/Fall of Cybertron continuity. This makes the most sense as it is the hot thing in the community right now. However, those wishing for a more G1 related telling of Cybertron's history may be disappointed. The story of the 13 original Primes is incredible and I couldn't stop turning the pages. The writing itself is sophisticated and the adult reader will be kept enthralled. However, that is not to say that this book isn't suitable for children. It may prove a challenge for some, but this book is definitely appropriate for a child to read as well.As for the packaging of the book, I believe that this is where the majority of the cost of the volume lies. The book comes in a case that is shaped like an Autobot symbol. This case comes apart and it complete with transformation sound effects. There is a peg in the back of the case as well in case you want to hang it on the wall. This case is cool and the sounds are awesome. However, it does feel a little delicate and I would recommend treating the case gently. The book and case also come in a larger box which is also nicely designed. When you receive it in the mail, the package you will get is huge compared to its contents.I bought this volume on sale, so it only came to about 60 bucks. I know when it was originally released it was almost 100. It's definitely worth the 60 I paid here for it, however 90-100 is a steep price. That being said, if you are a true Transformers fan or know someone who is, this book is a definite must-have. This is the so called definitive history of Cybertron and it is an exciting and emotional read. This is something that I would have hated to pass up. If you're in doubt about whether or not you want this, stop doubting! This is the book for the ultimate fan. You will love this if you get a chance to snag it, even with the heftier price tag.
