Review
One thing I love about the Scots are their traditional folklore pertaining to the Fae. This story embraces a clan who lives at the base of a mountain who have carved their keep into the stone. Living away from most other clans keeps them far away from normal clan disputes. Each year at Christmastide, the laird ventures up the mountain to hunt for a stag to secure the clan for the winter. But this trip finds Owen much more.Gwyn is a small Fae creature being held in a cage by her evil master who had led her away from her family. Owen is drawn to her and risks everything to free her. And as in any Fae story, something tragic can have bit a light at the end of the tunnel. But you'll have to read the story to find out what. They have a few obstacles to overcome but the ending is well worth the wait. It was fast-paced as any author condenses the novel into a novella. I would have loved a longer version giving them more time but other than this one thing, I loved the story. I was given an ARC and wanted to post an honest review.
